(2023) I'm proud of this song for a few reasons: "The Current" is the first song in a long while for which I've performed all the tracks myself in my home studio. Needed to know I could still do that. Also, because it required a certain kind of courage that I don't usually muster in the lyrics...I avoid commentary on anything other than my own interior world, but our world and humanity is calling out to us for care. For me, observing why things are as they are requires an honest appraisal. The current is both a metaphor for the turbulence we're all experiencing, but also a way of describing what is happening right now, as in currently. Mixed and mastered by Rave Tesar.
